Short version: the figures are not ours and you may use them freely. The charts are ours and you may republish them, as long as you credit us. Please do not republish the written analysis whole

What you may reuse

Four different things live on this site and they are not under the same terms, because they were not made by the same people

The figures themselves

Use freely. No permission, no credit needed to us

They are published by the institutions listed under Sources, and we could not restrict them even if we wanted to. Credit the institution, and link to it rather than to us where you can

Charts, tables and downloads

Republish, embed, print and adapt them, including commercially, if you credit fyistats.ro and link back

This is what the site is for. A chart in your article is the best possible outcome for us, so the terms are meant to be easy to say yes to. The wordmark on a downloaded chart is credit enough; you do not need to add anything else

The written analysis

Quote a passage with credit and a link. Please do not republish a whole page

The prose is the one part of this site written from scratch rather than republished, and a copy of a whole page competes with the original for the same readers. Quoting is welcome and always was

The database as a whole

Rights reserved. Ask before extracting substantial parts, or bulk-copying the corpus

Single lookups are free. What is reserved is the work behind it: structuring the data into one common model, the classifications and the mappings between them, standardising county names across publishers, the full revision history, and correcting the errors in the published files. That work is ours even though the numbers are not

How to credit

If you take only the figure, name the institution that published it — you do not need to mention us. If you take the chart, the table or a passage of text, name this site as well:

We are independent

This site is independent and is not a substitute for the institutions that publish the data. It is not run, endorsed or funded by the National Institute of Statistics, the Government of Romania, the National Bank of Romania, Eurostat or any other institution named here. Saying so is a condition of the open licence under which their data is republished, not just good manners

Accuracy, and what to do when we are wrong

Figures are republished, never restated, and the pipeline is tested — but no promise is made that a page is free of errors. If a figure here disagrees with its publisher, the publisher is right and this is a bug. Tell us and it will be fixed

What we collect

The only things kept on your device are the language and theme you choose — they stay there and never reach us. We count how many times each chart is downloaded per day, with nothing about who downloads it. If you sign up for alerts we keep your address and which language to write in, nothing else: no name, no tracking, and it is never passed on. If you ask to hear about fyistats Pro, we keep the same two things on a separate list and write to you about Pro only, once. We ask you to confirm the address first, and every message carries a one-click unsubscribe. Unsubscribing stops the messages and keeps only the record needed to make sure you are not added again; write to [email protected] and the address is erased entirely

Corrections are the ones we most want to hear about: if a figure here disagrees with its publisher, the publisher is right and this is a bug
